Our Journey

2010: The Idea Sparks

Dr. O'Brian Anthony Davids, a medical student at the University of Pretoria, envisions a digital medical passport to address unreliable paper records.

2013: Medical Graduation

Dr. Davids graduates from the University of Pretoria and begins working in state hospitals in South Africa and Namibia, witnessing firsthand the challenges of paper-based records.

2022: plitoX Cloud Founded

Dr. Davids establishes plitoX, a cloud data hosting company, to build the secure infrastructure needed for a global medical passport.

2025: Meditag Beta Launch

Meditag begins beta testing on July 1, 2025, in Namibia and South Africa, offering secure digital medical records via QR codes.

2025: Partner Engagement

Meditag actively engages potential partners in Namibia and South Africa to expand the beta and refine the platform.
